Spitting Or Swallowing During Oral Sex?
May I Come in Your Mouth?
It’s a sexual fantasy for many men who want to come in women’s mouths and have their semen swallowed during oral sex. But many women object to a mouthful and can’t imagine swallowing. A few main reasons come (no pun intended) to taste or texture.
No Coercion
No one should ever feel pressured to be sexual in ways they find disagreeable. If women or men are okay with swallowing semen, then by all means enjoy yourselves.
If not, men should not press women to accept semen in the mouth or swallow, nor should they turn such requests into tests of women’s devotion. Many women are madly in love with their men, but don’t want a mouthful of semen.
Lovers should respect each other’s erotic boundaries. If women don’t want semen in their mouths, they have every right to that limit and men should accept this.
STI transmission during oral sex?
That said, many women who object to semen in the mouth have specific fears that may not be valid.
One is that it spreads sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It’s possible to transmit two STIs with oral sex.
One is gonorrhea. Women have every right to decline semen in the mouth until their lovers test negative for gonorrhea.
The other is HIV. Actually, the AIDS virus rarely spreads orally, only if the woman has bleeding gums, a canker sore, or another oral wound that allows infected-semen-to-blood contact.
One way around any STI concern is condom-covered fellatio. That way men ejaculate in women’s mouths, but not into them.
Exploding semen?
Some women object to semen in the mouth because they fear injury from the force of ejaculation. In porn stories, men don’t just come, they “explode.”
Ejaculation may feel explosive to men, but to women who receive it orally, it’s more like biting down on a warm cherry tomato.
However, there is no recent, credible, or reliable scientific research into how forcefully semen comes out or the distance it can cover.
Some women fear gagging on a huge volume of semen. Actually, the typical ejaculation is a teaspoon to a tablespoon. (An old slang term was “the loving spoonful,” hence the name of 1960s folk-rock band, The Lovin’ Spoonful.). I was today years old when I learned this!
As men age beyond their reproductive years, semen production declines. By men’s mid-sixties, most ejaculate only a small amount. So women who objected to semen in the mouth with young men may feel differently with men over 60.
Semen is 97% water
Some women say semen tastes foul, and fear that it might harm them. No.
Semen is comprised of:
Water-97 percent of seminal volume.
Sperm-2 percent. Sperm cells are mostly protein.
Fructose, fruit sugar, which nourishes sperm.
Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) that protects sperm from the acidic vagina and uterus.
Magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc.
Various proteins, amino acids, and enzymes.
It’s the zinc that gives semen its unusual somewhat metallic flavor. Zinc helps nourish sperm. In the human diet, zinc is an essential trace mineral.
Women face no harm from ingesting semen, even if they swallow frequently.
One way around the taste issue is condom-covered fellatio.
Non-Fattening
Some women fear that swallowing semen may cause weight gain. Actually, the typical ejaculate contains only around 20 calories, about as much as a lifesaver.
Better-Tasting Semen
Some urologists claim that, because semen includes a precise mixture of ingredients necessary to support sperm, its taste can’t be changed.
However, many women insist that diet makes a big difference. Former porn star, Annie Sprinkle, who claims to have tasted 1,000 men’s semen, says vegetarians taste best, that the taste improves if men drink lots of fruit juices (particularly apple and pineapple), and that smoking, alcohol, meats, and asparagus spoil the taste.
Other spices and herbs can improve the taste of your semen as well. Cinnamon, wheatgrass, peppermint, spearmint and parsley all sweeten the taste of your semen.
Internet discussions generally agree that semen can be sweetened with a diet high in fruit and fruit juices. They also generally agree on the foods that foul the taste: broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, deep-fried foods, meats, dairy foods, alcohol, coffee, and asparagus.
Changing your diet today WILL NOT AFFECT the taste of your semen instantly. Semen is produced days before an ejaculation, so there are no quick fixes for taste.
Cigarettes also make semen less palatable. While there is no authoritative research on the subject, it’s good for health to quit smoking, and to consume more fruit and less meat, fried foods, and alcohol.
Semen’s taste can also be masked. While providing fellatio, women might also suck on Lifesavers. Women who tout this approach recommend peppermint and wintergreen.
Alternatives to swallowing during oral sex?
In porn, the women rarely swallow. Instead, semen dribbles out of their mouths and they massage it into their skin. Some men find this erotic, even preferable to swallowing. If women feel okay about semen in the mouth, but would rather not swallow, discuss this alternative.
Women can also let men come on their chest. Start pleasuring him orally, and when he’s close to climax put his penis between your breasts. (Amp up the heat by slathering your cleavage with lube.) Then, place your palms on either side of your breasts and push them together as he slides his shaft back and forth until he peaks.
Bottom Line
Lovers are under no obligation to take semen in their mouths or swallow during oral sex. If they’d rather not, men should accept that boundary graciously and communicate with their partners on other alternatives or sexual fantasies.
